Samantha K. Speakes

Samantha Speakes is an associate in the Atlanta, Georgia office of Goodman McGuffey LLP. She focuses her practice on the defense of self-insured and commercially insured employers in Georgia workers’ compensation claims.

Samantha graduated with honors from Emory University School of Law in 2023. During her time in law school, she was awarded the Dean’s Award for being the top performer in her Global Public Health Law course and earned the Emory University TI:GER certificate focused on commercialization, risk assessment, and licensing strategy. Samantha also competed on Emory’s ABA Alternative Dispute Resolution team and won the national mediation competition in 2022.

Before pursuing law, Samantha earned a master’s degree in biomedical sciences, giving her a unique advantage in analyzing medical evidence critically and collaborating effectively with medical providers, which she now applies to her workers’ compensation defense practice.

Samantha lives in Atlanta with her husband Cameron and their two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys learning the Irish language, hiking, and spending time with her family.
